The Pegasus Spyware enables the remote surveillance of smartphones including hijacking the mic and camera of the device. According to some media reports, the Pegasus spyware can be used to monitoring all activities of the smartphone-like emails, text, web searching, etc, and also enables phone calls and location tracking. This also permitting NSO Group to hijack the device's microphone and camera. This spyware may convert your smartphone into a constant surveillance device.

Pegasus spyware was discovered in August 2018 after a fail attempt of installing it in an iPhone of a human rights activist. Pegasus spyware is capable of reading Text messages, collecting passwords, location tracking, tracking calls, accessing device microphones and cameras.

According to an intelligence report of Israeli Newspaper- Haaretz, It was reported that NSO group has sold the Pegasus Spyware for hundreds of millions of United States Dollars to the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf Nations for surveillance of anti-regime activists, journalists, and political leaders of rival nations.
